Hello everyone
i have an Asus Zephyrus M16 2023 with a MiniLED display and recently got an 18-inch MiniLED external display from the Asus ROG Strix G18 2024. When I connect the external display and enable HDR, its brightness drops to about 80% and the brightness control buttons don’t work in HDR mode.
Without HDR, i can adjust the brightness, but it doesn’t activate the dimming zones. This forces to make a choice between HDR off for peak brightness without good blacks or HDR on for local dimming without peak brightness.
I tried the Twinkle Tray app, but it didn't help. It seems the issue is power-related. When powered through its adapter from a power outlet, the display reaches peak brightness. However, using any laptop port for power or video doesn't provide enough power, even though it should.
