Boot animation reverted?

So by default with the insiders preview the boot animation was the new one. Now after release, this is always the old boot animation. The strange thing, is that even installing windows from an old iso that once had the new animation, now only shows the old animation. Enabling the registry key (never did this before) gives you a bit of the new animation, but then if there was an update, its the circle dots again.

The new animation is cool and all, but this behavior is strange no?
