i cannot change my brightness. The slider is there but is completely greyed out. I checked the drivers, and everything is updated. I'm not sure what to do.

If it's for a Notebook there's usually a key/Fx or Fn + Fx to dim or brighten, usually the hardware setting has to be done before the Operating System setting.

Since you’ve already checked and updated your drivers, here are a few additional steps you can try:

Go to Control Panel > Power Options and ensure that your power plan settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, power-saving modes can affect brightness control.
Try booting into Safe Mode to see if you can adjust the brightness there. This can help determine if a third-party app is causing the issue.
Go to Settings > System > Display and see if adjusting the brightness from there makes a difference.
If you’re using a laptop, check for any function keys (often marked with a sun icon) that control brightness.

If none of these work, there might be a hardware issue or a more complex software conflict at play. You might want to consult your device’s support for further assistance.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the suggestions, Bighorn and WickedJohn!

I tried a few of those steps:

Power Settings: Everything looks fine there.
Graphics Drivers: I checked the manufacturer’s site and updated everything.
Windows Updates: My system is fully up to date.
Safe Mode: The brightness slider is still greyed out in Safe Mode.
Display Settings: No luck with adjusting the brightness there either.
Function Keys: I tried using the Fn keys, but they don’t seem to affect the brightness.

I’m still having trouble. Any other ideas or should I contact support? Thanks again for your help!
