Talking about Features, The update adds the power to drag and drop pinned apps from the Start menu into the Taskbar. Microsoft also brings the most awaited File Explorer Tab duplication feature, allow create a new tab to the same file system location. You just need to right-click on a File Explorer tab and choose a new “Duplicate tab” option. In addition, KB5040527 for Windows 11 fix the following issues with File Explorer:

- A memory leak occurs when you interact with archive folders.
- File Explorer stops responding when you browse within it.
- When you search from Home for the first time, you might not get any results.
- The address bar dropdown menu might appear when you do not expect it.
- When you use the Save dialog to save a file to Gallery, an error occurs. Because of this update, your file saves to the Pictures library instead.
- The search box does not show the correct folder name when you are in Gallery.
- A blank area shows at the top of File Explorer.
- The back and forward mouse buttons do not work when you hover over the Recommended Files section of Home.
- Images flash when you view them in the Gallery.

Another notable change after installing this update You can drag apps from the Pinned section of the menu and pin them to the taskbar. Microsoft has highlighted that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth need to be turned on for nearby sharing to work. If these are off when you enable nearby sharing, Windows will prompt you to turn them on. The “End task” option now directly stops a task without showing a “not responding” dialog. This option is only available if you enable it in Settings > System > For Developers.

When the taskbar has keyboard focus (WIN + T), pressing a letter key will take you to the app whose name starts with that letter. Pressing the same letter repeatedly you will go to the next app whose name starts with that letter. Pressing a letter more than once only works if there are multiple pinned or open apps whose name starts with that letter. In an uncombined taskbar, this action will focus on the window starting with that letter. Pressing Home or End will move the focus to the first or last item on the taskbar.

Note: Microsoft noted the above features might not be available to all users because they will roll out gradually.

IMPORTANT - Home and Pro editions of Windows 11, version 22H2 will reach end of service on October 8, 2024. Until then, these editions will only receive security updates. They will not receive non-security, preview updates. To continue receiving security and non-security updates after October 8, 2024, we recommend that you update to the latest version of Windows.
