I had used the version of edge prior to the above to put links to gmail, amazon, ebay and youtube on my taskbar.
I used the ... >More Tools > Pin to Taskbar facility, whereby a currently displayed website in Edge can be linked to the Taskbar.
When Edge updated to the above (currently latest) release, the icons became inactive, and on subsequent reboot, vanished from the taskbar.
In order to get round this (minor) annoyance, I first uninstalled the above apps from the "all apps" list in the Start Menu, and then, having got, say, the YouTube website displayed in Edge, used ...>Apps> and selected YouTube from the displayed list. After answering a couple of more questions - Install YouTube App? and then - Pin to taskbar? the appropriate icon reappeared on the taskbar and is usable. I have reported this bug to Edge.
