Windows 10 and Windows 11 have always messed up this cache, I often get out of date thumbnails showing me the wrong picture.
Cleaning/clearing/refreshing it is no use, as it soon breaks again.
For example: I just connected my camera containing three photos. Two of them were correct, but the first image was an old image, cached from the last time I connected the camera (just because the filename was the same). Therefore I deleted it thinking I didn't need it, and ended up deleting a new image which I did need, then had to photograph again.
Please tell me a way to stop Windows from caching the thumbnails, as they are not always kept up to date. I can only find a registry edit which only works up to Windows 8. I have Windows 11. The problem was the same in Windows 10.
