How to access the camera to take a picture?

Previously, I could easily take pictures with the laptop camera. Now, I'm having difficulty accessing the camera. I was able to turn it on through settings, but it only shows a live picture of me with an HP logo. I still can't figure out how to use it to take pictures in general. I need to capture some images, but I don't have access to a phone, only my laptop.
