I have a Dell laptop that I use for university, which I received through a grant. The laptop has a loose connector and occasionally runs out of battery. When it happens, and I’m away from it, it tries to update Windows and then shuts off due to the low battery. I can't afford to get it repaired right now, and I’m stuck waiting for days while trying to adjust the cable and hoping it has enough charge to boot.
I’m frustrated that Windows Update doesn’t seem to recognize the low battery and skips the update process.
Is there a way to permanently disable Windows Updates so I don’t have to deal with this issue again?
