I am having issues with the VPN on my PC

So I am wondering if I even need a VPN on my Home PC? or are they just for notebooks being used in public?

I was using NordVPN at home for a while. After doing some research and cost analysis for the private network, I decided to end my subscription. The following link provides some useful information regrading VPN's at home.
