Hi,

I just upgraded my computer to Windows 11.

After upgradation, most of time memory usages is high in idle mode comparatively.

Specification is as below:
  • CPU: i5-8250U @ 1.60 GHz
  • Memory: 12 GB (4GB onboard + 8GB added on another slot)
  • Disk: SSD (250 GB) + 1TB
  • GPU: Dedicated Radeon 540
  • OS: windows 11 21H2
Windows 11 is installed on SSD.

At startup, only Windows Security Notification & Realtek HD Audio are enabled.

Please let me know, what I need to look further.

With Regards

This was a bug which was fixed via an update. Have you checked for any further Windows updates & updated your drivers to Win 11 versions?

What is the TM showing at performance and memory? As my Win-11 shows 7GB usage at idle with 16Gb total memory. These memory allocations vary and the system adjusts accordingly and it would get slow at the upper range as it has to use paging at that point (which is swapping to the drive and the slower the drive the slower it is). That is something to seriously avoid.

Try this, run System File Checker scan:
1. Search for 'command prompt' using Cortana or Windows Search.
2. From results, right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
3. Type sfc /scannow command and press Enter key.
4. Let the command complete and then reboot the machine.

If issue still persists, perform clean boot: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows
