Microsoft is testing a feature that automatically launches Copilot upon Windows startup in an attempt to integrate it even further into the Windows experience. Users in the Canary and Dev Channels first highlighted this, noticing Copilot's automatic activation in Build 26100.
However, the same feature was previously tested in Build 26052 but was temporarily disabled. Brandon LeBlanc from Microsoft confirmed the reactivation of this feature, suggesting it's being tested again. Even more, not all users will encounter this change. Microsoft specifies that Copilot will only auto-start for users with displays of 27 inches or larger with full HD resolution.
For those who prefer not to have Copilot greet them at startup, Microsoft offers an option to disable it in the Personalization settings.
Additionally, several users have also spotted these Copilot prompts in Edge's address bar, showing Microsoft's commitment to promoting Copilot beyond just Windows.
While some may continue to question the constant promotion of Copilot, Microsoft's dedication might be a sign of its potential value, especially in enterprise environments. It all depends on those who might be willing, after too, to explore its capabilities.
