This happened to me previously, and the technician at the shop installed something to fix it. I've tried using the function key sequences and updating my mouse drivers, but when I access my device manager and navigate to "Mice and other pointing devices," I don't see the option to update at all.

Goto DEVICE MANAGER -> VIEW -> SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES .. from there re-point to Mice and other pointing devices to see any previous hidden / disabled functions ..
I tried showing hidden devices as suggested but it didn't reveal any additional options under "Mice and other pointing devices." The cursor is still missing, and I can't seem to find any other hidden or disabled functions related to the mouse. Could this be related to a hardware malfunction?
