Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing severe overheating with my Acer Predator Helios Neo 16, which I bought in 2023. Initially, it worked perfectly, but after installing some pirated games, I noticed performance drops and crashes. Reinstalling Windows helped temporarily, but the overheating returned after adding my usual software and games.
During normal tasks the laptop reaches 60-70°C. When gaming, it hits 99°C even with fans at max speed. Without monitoring tools, temperatures can soar to 80-90°C, and CPU usage spikes to 60-70%. Using monitoring tools reduces CPU usage to 5-10% and lowers temperatures. Despite low CPU utilization, temperatures remain high during daily tasks.
Acer support cleaned the laptop and applied new thermal paste, but the problem persists. I'm worried about the impact on my laptop's health and lifespan.
What could be causing this overheating, and how can I fix it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
