Hi everybody.

I’m looking for a freeware or shareware program that will compare the contents of two folders, and display the difference.

Let me elaborate.

Let’s say I have a folder named ALPHABET 1.

In the ALPHABET 1 folder, I have the following subfolders:

A B C X Y Z

I have a second folder, named ALPHABET 2.

In ALPHABET 2, I have the following subfolders:

A B C D E W X Y Z.

So, I’m looking for a program that will inspect these two folders, and will tell me the difference is:

D, E, W.

That's all I need it to do.

Does that make sense? Does anyone know of any programs that might do that?

Thank you!

I believe the app provided in the link below will do what you want.

Thank you for replying. This is PERFECT! Thank you.

But...if I may, I'd like to ask one question: How do you filter WinMerge so that it displays ONLY the different folders?
In the example below, I only want D, E, and W displayed. Is that possible? If so, what do I do to get this?

I'm SO close! Thank you so much.

Try total commander. It does the same way. I use it to sync my data drive with my backup drives.

I haven't used the app for awhile, but the link below has the settings for options and configuration. Maybe something can be changed that will ignore selected drives. I really don't know.
