This week, I noticed that the option to download TV shows and movies for offline viewing on Netflix has disappeared from my Windows device. It was available just last week. According to Netflix’s website, downloads are now only supported on:
- Android phones or tablets
- iPhones or iPads
- Amazon Fire tablets
- Google Chromebooks
A Netflix representative told me this change was made to enhance the user experience. It’s frustrating how Windows devices seem to miss out on certain features compared to Apple and Google (Android) devices. For example, there's no Comcast (Xfinity) app for Windows, so I can't watch DVR'd content, which is possible on an iPad. It’s disappointing to see such limitations on an otherwise great device.
