Screen on/off and PIN code

Hi everyone. I'm unsure how to turn off the screen without putting the laptop to sleep. I need to keep my laptop operational while running tasks or video creation. Pressing FN+F6/F7 only adjusts the keyboard backlighting.

Also, how can I start up the laptop without needing to use a PIN?

Might check the Fx keys, some Notebooks have one marked with an icon resembling the screen and pressing that key or the Fn key plus that key will toggle between the Notebook screen, an external screen or both at the same time. I'd try the one without a monitor attached.
