Windows 11 doesn't seem to like my external Seagate hard drive anymore. When I use it to look at photos, it keeps beeping and windows 11 takes and to process what's on it. Then I get spinning disc crap, so I click to remove it and it says I can't because it's in use. But I can never find out whats using it.
It's an absolute pain when all I want to do it view or take things off it.

Simple ..

Known Issues - Power Problems, Faulty Connections, or Physical Damage

Solution
  • Check the power supply
  • Try connecting the drive directly to a USB port on the computer
  • Try connecting the drive to a different USB port on the computer
  • Try using a USB Y-cable or plugging the drive into a USB hub
  • Try replacing the USB cable
  • Faulty HDD, replace the HDD
