Something happened and we couldn't start the upgrade: Pro upgrade won't work

I bought a Windows upgrade from Home to Pro through the shop. However, when I try to upgrade, I get the error message "Something happened and we couldn't start the upgrade." It's so vague, and contacting support seems impossible now. This is a brand new laptop; I literally turned it on and tried to upgrade to Pro. Can someone guide me on the necessary steps to obtain support and complete the purchased upgrade?

What software source are you using, a bootable USB Thumb drive, DVD or online? Is the new machine running the S, N or K version of Win11? Sometimes all it takes to go from Home to Pro is in System, Activation and change the key. When I've done it all that was required was connection to the Internet to get additional updates.
