Task Bar Icons

Hello, I updated to W11 a few days ago and it appears that the icons that are on the left side on my task bar (looking at my display) are blank.
If I click (open) the icon, it is populated with the appropriate icon but when I restart my computer, the icons show up blank (small white rectangles).
The icons were fine with W10 but became erratic when I upgraded to W1.
Any help/suggestions/advice/....... would be appreciated

The taskbar does not always display all the icons that have been attached to that taskbar. With Windows 10, one would grab the upper edge of the taskbar, and raise that upper edge until a second taskbar was displayed. Can this feature be added to Windows 11?
