Hello everyone,

I’m having issues with installing the 2024-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5041585). After about 10 attempts, the update still hasn’t installed. I’ve tried using the Windows Update Troubleshooter multiple times and have also run sfc/scannow, as well as DISM.exe commands like ScanHealth and RestoreHealth. However, after running the RestoreHealth command, I receive the error code 0x800f081f with a message stating, “The source code could not be found. Use the ‘Source’ option to specify the location of files that are required to restore the feature.”

I also tried performing a clean boot and attempted the update again, but still no luck. The error code 0x800f0831 appears after every attempt, and the installation progress reaches 50%, jumps to 100% for a moment, and then switches back to "download & install" before showing "retry." Thank you for your help

I got KB5041585 on 8/13/2024 along with KB5042099, no issues yet.

what is your TPM chip 1.2 or 2.0 if it is 1.2 that could be your issues. My 6-year-old laptop was 1.2 and it could not be updated.
