USB WiFi not auto-connecting

I have Windows 11 24H2 installed on an older motherboard. This generally works well. I recently added an ASUS USB-AX56 WiFi 6 adapter. This, too, works well, except for one thing. Despite being set to reconnect WiFi automatically, it doesn't. OK, it did once, and it surprised me.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Mine did that once and I had forgot to check the Remember me box at the log-on to the Router.
