Why is microsoft pushing edge?

I recently updated to Windows 11 in April, and although the EU forced Microsoft to let users choose their browser, I feel like Edge is still being pushed on me. I've disabled web search because I prefer using Firefox (which is pinned to my taskbar). I'm curious, is there any way to completely replace Edge with Firefox, including for pop-ups? Despite living in the EU and the Digital Markets Act being in place, it seems I can't set Firefox as the default for everything. Can anyone explain why this is happening and how to make Firefox my default browser? Thanks!

Thanks so much for your help! I continued the research and yeah, keeping Edge installed is generally recommended for system stability and compatibility with future updates. I set Firefox as my default without uninstalling Edge.
