New computer build. Windows 10 installed. Upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11, updated. Now at 22H2 OS build 1945.6131 . I can see the CD/DVD player with File Explorer. I load a disc but it isn't detected. It won't recognize any type of CD, music, software install, a collection of photos. I can use "eject" and the tray comes out. I've reloaded the driver for the player. No change. Things seemed to be fine in Windows 10.

First of all, your Version and Build # do not exist. Windows 11 does not have a 1945 build, they are 22xxx and higher.
Second: did you not post the exact same thing in the Windows10 forum??

If you want to be helped, you need to get your information straight...

Actually, it seems like there's a misunderstanding. You might have accidentally typed the build number wrong, or it might be a typo. Regarding the issue with the CD/DVD player, it's possible that the upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 caused a driver or compatibility issue. I would suggest checking if there are any updated drivers for the optical drive on the manufacturer's website. Additionally, it might help to run the Windows Troubleshooter for hardware and devices to see if it detects and fixes any problems with the CD/DVD drive.
