Win 11 to Win 10 machines

Still coming in here looking for ideas in getting my" win 10 laptop/win 11 desktop" to talk to each other in both directions. This is a new year so thanks to all for the ideas in 2021.

First confirm that both are on "Private" network

This is what I see looking out at my desktop ( win 11 ) from the Laptop (win 10)
On the laptop Network discovery is on; File and print sharing is on; turn on password is off ; and the network is Private.
On Desktop, I had to turn on sharing to the needed folders on the C drive as it is a recent replacement ( 1T SSD )
Looking out from Desktop all I get to see is " USERS " and nowhere really to go.
