I have no need for Cloud storage but saving files should be the same as saving to a folder on the Windows drive, drag and paste or copy and paste into the OneDrive folder in the Navigation pane of File Explorer or in C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\.

I personally do not use a cloud service (if I cannot afford to loose the files). A better idea would be an external HDD which only you have access to and nobody else (can't say that with a cloud service)....
Other than that, you need to save the photos from the email onto your computer anyway to be able to upload these "in the sky"...

Download entire albums from Google Photos to the computer and re-upload to OneDrive .. there's no sync option from Google Photos to Microsoft OnDrive and vice-versa :)
