I want to create an NFS share on my Windows 11 Enterprise workstation. I have enabled Services for NFS and restarted my workstation, but when I select a directory properties, there is no NFS tab to select to enable the share.

I do see the NFS client in the Admin tools and am able to create a share to a remote server.

What am I missing that could prohibit the NFS tab?

Windows 11 Enterprise includes Services for NFS, but the NFS Server component is only available on Windows Server, not Windows 11. That’s why you don’t see the NFS tab when trying to share a folder.

If you need an NFS server on Windows 11, you’ll need to use third-party software like haneWin NFS Server or set up a Linux-based NFS server in a virtual machine or WSL2. If you just need to access NFS shares from a remote server, the NFS client should work as expected. Let me know if you need help with alternatives.
