OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Education
Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621
X-64-Based PC
Here's the setup:
- I'm on a Macbook using a remote desktop to get into my Windows PC at my house. This PC has a Beefy GPU I use to train Neutral Nets on.
- As a software dev, I heavily use the CTRL-Left, CTRL-Right shortcuts to skip around text when programming. (Enough to make this post.)
- On a mac, BOTH the Windows Key and the CTRL Key are mapped to the Mac's Command key. So I cannot use the CTRL-Left, CTRL-Right shortcuts to skip around text since the Windows key seems to override the CTRL keyboard shortcuts.
- Since I am remoting into the computer, I need a solution that works at the OS level.
Finally:
I have tried to disable the Windows key under
-> Local Group Policy Editor
-> User Config
-> Administrative Templates
-> Windows Components
-> File Explorer
-> Turn off Windows Hotkeys
Both Enabling and Disabling this feature does not turn off the windows hotkey.
Please let me know if you are able to replicate this behavior on the same build, and how to proceed.
It seems the only other solution is to edit binaries directly or install third party software. Neither of which I wish to do.
